Located on the north shore of Shuswap Lake, Celista Estate boasts the perfect site for grape growing. With ideal air flow, soil, moisture levels, sun exposure and an experienced first-class winemaker on-site that uses old world winemaking techniques, Celista Estate’s many accolades come as no surprise – at least to the locals. The secret is out, though, and people beyond the interior are beginning to buzz about this young winery.

Celista has been recognized for producing a variety of top-notch wines on multiple occasions in several different competitions. All of the wines listed below were recognized with an award at the 2020 All Canadian Wine Competition.

2020 Marg’s Rosé

This coral pink Rosé was a Double Gold Medal Winner and won a Silver Medal in the 2020 Experience Rosé wine competition, the largest Rosé competition in the US.

2020 Celista Cuvée

This crisp, white wine also won Double Gold. The Cuvée has aromas of apricot and a mid-palate taste of Golden Delicious apples. It is made from a blend of Siegerrebe, Sylvaner, Madeline Angevine and Gewurztraminer grapes.

2019 Oak Barrel Foch Reserve

This sumptuous, bold Marechal Foch was a Gold Medal Winner. With aromas of black cherry, blackberries, espresso and dark chocolate, this robust wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels and gets its bold taste from the winery’s unique terroir.

Our 2019 Oak Barrel Foch Reserve is sold out, but the 2020 vintage is delicious also!

2020 Siegerrebe

This luscious, easy drinking wine is made with an early ripening grape and has intense aromas of lilacs and rose petals. It received a Bronze Medal and also earned a Silver Medal in the Finger Lakes New York International Wine Competition.

At Celista Estates, wine tastings are free with no reservation required, but if you can plan your trip to arrive on a Wednesday or Saturday around 11am, you’re in for even more of a treat because that’s when the tours happen. Tours at Celista are a memorable event with much to see and explore. You will hear about the winery’s history and the grape varietals they grow while being entertained by owner and master storyteller Jake Ootes, wrapping up the experience with a free tasting and opportunity to purchase some of our award-winning selections.

If you’re checking out Okanagan wineries, it’s worth it to stretch your journey just a little further north towards the Shuswap. The scenery is spectacular and the wine divine.
